LP22 Bushcat by Skyreach
SkyReach is a proudly South African company based at Springs airfield, just east of Johannesburg. Formerly Rainbow Aircraft, the company has its origins in the weight-shift trike market however a need for a cost effective & rugged, 3-axis bush aircraft was identified in the late 90’s resulting in the first flights of the newly designed aircraft taking place in 2001.
With every BushCat comes the peace of mind that the design has been extensively tested to ensure conformity to ASTM Light Sport Aircraft structural and flight performance standards. We do believe the BushCat is possibly the most comprehensively tested LSA in existence. All flight performance testing was handled by an impartial 3rd party consisting of military trained test pilots who left no stone unturned. We remain committed to our clients safety and piece of mind. When purchasing a BushCat you know that you are partnering with an ethical and responsible aircraft manufacturer.

The BushCat is powered by the Austrian designed Rotax 912 ULS engine. This engine has become one of the leading engines in today’s light sport market, and it’s reputation precedes itself. The 912ULS is a normally aspirated, horizontally opposed, four-cylinder engine.
The primary structure of the aircraft is made from aluminium tubes bolted together via stainless steel brackets. The simplicity of this design reduces manufacturing cost and time, resulting in a product with a high strength per cost ratio. Furthermore, in the event of damage to the primary structure, this design philosophy allows the customer to replace only the parts which have been damaged.

The aluminium space frame is covered with a Trilaminate composite fabric, commonly used in the sailing industry for yacht sails. It is incredibly strong and has proved itself against the elements. In addition to this, we offer all our customers the opportunity to pick from our range of five bright colours to form their own design for their aircraft covering, making each aircraft as unique as a zebra’s stripes.

If your mission requires the use of in-flight photography or any other activity in which the doors might get in the way, it is useful to note that both doors are 100% removable. Furthermore, the doors can be removed and refitted in less than 2 minutes. (Flight with doors removed not approved for LSA or CLSA registered aircraft) |
